Freedom Flotilla Ship Prevented from Sailing in Guinea Bissau. The Turkiye ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza were prevented from sailing by Guinea Bissau authorities on Friday 26 April 2024. Not only that, they also removed the Turkiye flag from the ships. As a result of this incident during a demonstration in Istanbul on Saturday 27 April 2024.

They demanded a ceasefire and unimpeded delivery of aid to the Gaza strip. Previously, the Guinea Bissau international ship registry held a surprise inspection and removed the flags on two Freedom Flotilla ships which were departing from Turkiye to Gaza. | The ship is known to be carrying 5,000 tons of humanitarian aid which will be sent to Gaza. Freedom Flotilla stated that the cancellation of the registration of these ships was an overt political step. Apart from that, they also cannot sail without a flag.

The Freedom Flotilla also blamed Israel for exerting pressure to prevent the flotilla. One of the activists and retired United States Army officer Ann Wright also asked the international court to stop the genocide in Gaza. “Us to the gen gaz it’s called on the government it’s called oniv our government will not be acting our government is important but our people are strong we will sell,” he said in a speech.
