Over the last 2 years Iran has seized five tankers belonging to the United States. This action resulted in huge losses for the United States. Iran claims that the seizure of the United States ships is a form of revenge against that country. Iran recently seized an oil tanker worth 51,000 billion dollars in the Persian Gulf, on Wednesday 6 March 2024.
