Saudi Arabia Calls for Immediate Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza

Saudi Arabia Calls for Immediate Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza. Tensions in the Middle East are increasingly heating up amid talks about a ceasefire. This made Saudi Arabia fed up and emphasized its call to Israel to immediately implement a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

The call was made by Saudi foreign minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, at the fifth Islamic Cooperation Organization or Oki Summit, held in the Gambian capital. Quoted on the week of May 5 2024, he emphasized that the problems occurring in Palestine must be the main priority for Muslims, to ensure they get their rights.

Faisal said that his country had collaborated with brotherly countries to protect the people of Gaza. However, Israeli aggression in Gaza continues, causing casualties to continue to increase.

Therefore, Saudi Arabia condemns Israel’s actions and is willing to provide safe passage for Palestinians. In the summit forum, there were three main things discussed, namely the draft resolution on Palestine. Draft Banjul statement and draft final document.
